Physical Therapist Position Overview

Physical therapy team members assist with ensuring the health and well‑being of individuals by providing comprehensive and quality therapy services. This position is responsible for administering skilled physical therapy treatments, maintaining quality care, and requires a state‑specific PT license.

Responsibilities
  • Initiate skilled physical therapy treatments per physician orders and maintain communication with physicians
  • Maintain written evaluations, progress notes, and discharge summaries for individuals in the PT program
  • Coordinate with other healthcare staff regarding special needs to enhance rehabilitation or maintenance of function
  • Provide input for meetings and attend in place of the Director of Physical Therapy during absences
  • Maintain statistical records of individuals’ treatments
  • Assist with in‑service training programs upon request
  • Record and update individual’s plan of care in the inter‑disciplinary Kardex
  • Submit requisitions for supplies needed in treatment to the Director of Physical Therapy
  • Assume all duties of the Director of Physical Therapy during absences, including supervision of PT aides and documentation responsibilities
Qualifications
  • Graduation from an approved school of physical therapy
  • State license to practice physical therapy
  • Two years’ experience in physical therapy preferred
  • Ability to direct others as necessary
  • Strong communication skills in English at an intermediate or higher level
