Job summary

Mobile Rehabilitation & Wellness Center in Mobile, AL is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our rehabilitation team. This role will involve working under a licensed Physical Therapist to help residents regain mobility, strength, and independence in a skilled nursing setting.

You will educate residents and families, document progress, and coordinate with nursing and therapy staff to support each resident's rehabilitation goals.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant license in state of practice.
• Current CPR certification, as required.
• Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
• Long-term care or skilled nursing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction and supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.
• Carry out individualized treatment plans designed to improve mobility, strength, balance, endurance, and functional independence.
• Assist residents with therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and other rehabilitation activities.
• Monitor resident progress and communicate changes or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Accurately document treatments, resident response, and progress in accordance with facility and regulatory requirements.
• Educate and encourage residents and families throughout the rehabilitation process.
• Collaborate with nursing, therapy, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to help residents achieve their highest practicable level of function.
• Maintain resident safety, dignity, and confidentiality at all times.
