Overview

As a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) at OrthoArkansas, you’ll be a key player in our outpatient physical therapy team, working closely with physical therapists to help patients regain movement, function, and overall well-being. You’ll implement treatment plans under the guidance of licensed physical therapists, ensuring that every intervention is delivered effectively, safely, and with a focus on patient recovery.

Responsibilities
  1. Plan of Care Implementation
    • Execute treatment plans designed by the physical therapist, using targeted interventions that align with each patient’s unique needs and goals.
    • Perform specific modalities and therapeutic interventions as detailed in the treatment plan.
  2. Documentation and Administrative Tasks
    • Complete precise and timely documentation of treatment sessions using Athena software, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
    • Manage clinic linen, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
    • Keep the clinic organized and safe by removing obstacles and maintaining an environment conducive to therapy.
  3. Patient Interaction and Care
    • Provide hands-on assistance and support to patients during therapy sessions, ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for.
    • Handle sensitive patient matters with empathy and professionalism, maintaining confidentiality and dignity at all times.
    • Sanitize surfaces, equipment, and treatment areas using chemical cleaners, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
  4. Compliance and Regulation
    • Adhere to OSHA and HIPAA regulations, maintaining compliance with all relevant standards and guidelines.
    • Follow company policies and procedures to ensure high-quality care and operational efficiency.
  5. Team Collaboration and Supervision
    • Build positive relationships with administrative and medical staff, fellow colleagues, patients, and their families, fostering a supportive and collaborative team environment.
    • Supervise therapy technicians, providing guidance, education, and training as needed.
    • Take on additional duties or responsibilities as required to support the smooth functioning of the therapy department.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
  • Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.
  • Associate\'s degree or equivalent training in a related field.
  • 0 to 6 months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
  • Licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) by the Arkansas Physical Therapy Board.
Software Skills
  • Intermediate proficiency in word processing and typing.
  • Familiarity with software applications relevant to therapy documentation and administrative tasks.
