Job summary

Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas is seeking dedicated Physical Therapist Assistants to join our rehab team. You will assist in treating residents under the guidance of a Physical Therapist, document treatments, and help educate residents, families, and staff within a not-for-profit continuing care retirement community.

The role emphasizes collaboration with the rehabilitation team, infection control, and adherence to guidelines. Must be licensed in Kansas and prefer eldercare experience.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program and licensed to practice in the State of Kansas.
• Previous experience working with the elderly is preferred.
• Demonstrates good communications skills, including but not limited to effective reading, writing, speaking, and analytical skills, with a fluent understanding of English.
• Possesses an empathetic approach to the elderly.
• Able to work in a team setting with residents, relatives, staff, and others.

Responsibilities

• Provides treatment to residents under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
• Records treatments administered in residents’ medical records and in the department’s daily billing records, in accordance with established procedures.
• Instructs residents, family, and staff in maintenance programs, as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
• Attends and participates in resident care conferences and rehabilitation departmental meetings.
• Maintains and continually improves professional competency by attending in-service trainings and utilizing other educational materials.
• Protects residents and staff by adhering to infection control procedures at all times.
• Ensures that services are provided at all times in accordance with applicable guidelines, regulations, and standards of practice.
• Develops and maintains a good working rapport with inter-department personnel and other departments within the facility, to ensure that Therapy Services programs can be properly maintained to meet the needs of facility and residents.

Lakeview Village in Lenexa, Kansas is a 5-Star not-for-profit continuing care retirement community that offers a variety of living options and services to seniors, including Outpatient Therapy. In addition to an on-campus outpatient therapy clinic, Lakeview’s therapy team also provides services at six other locations near the main campus.

We currently have an opening for caring and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistants to join our excellent team of rehab professionals.

Physical Therapist Assistants are responsible for assisting in the treatment of residents as directed by the Physical Therapist in order to restore, maintain, or prevent the decline of patient function. Participates as an active member of the rehabilitation team.
