Job summary

Tennessee Quality Care in Davidson County, TN is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join our Home Health team full-time. You will provide one-on-one sessions in patients' homes, helping them recover, reduce pain, and regain independence under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist.

This position offers a Monday–Friday schedule (8:00 AM – 4:30 PM), mileage reimbursement, a 401(k) with company match, PTO, paid holidays, tuition reimbursement, and a supportive team culture.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PTA program (AS or AAS) approved by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA).
• Current PTA license in Tennessee.
• At least one year of PTA experience preferred.
• Current CPR certification.
• Ability to perform home visits and provide care in a home environment.
• Reliable transportation, valid driver’s license, and current automobile insurance.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist and in accordance with the physician’s plan of care and state practice guidelines.
• Assist patients in relieving pain, restoring function, and achieving maximum performance.
• Guide patients through therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer activities, and functional mobility tasks.
• Administer non-complex treatments such as therapeutic exercises, massage, traction, and physical modalities (heat, cold, water, and electrical stimulation).
• Instruct, motivate, and support patients in improving functional abilities.
• Observe patient progress and report findings to the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Assist with clinical documentation and ensure timely submission of notes and progress reports.
• Report changes in patient condition to the supervising Physical Therapist and Director of Nursing/Director of Therapy.
• Educate patients on the use of assistive devices such as wheelchairs, braces, crutches, canes, and prosthetic or orthotic devices.
