Responsibilities
  • Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment interventions.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and function.
  • Provide training to individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, documenting training results.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Support individuals' treatment plans by documenting and reporting status changes to the multidisciplinary team as appropriate.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program.
  • Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice.
  • Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based therapy interventions.
  • Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics, and/or home health.
  • One year of experience preferred.
  • New graduates are encouraged to apply.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Capability to perform moving, lifting, or transferring of patients, which may involve lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures.
  • Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/standing for extended periods.
  • Additional physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and frequent positioning.
  • A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on location policy and regulations, to verify physical capability to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
