Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment interventions.
• Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and function.
• Provide training to individuals and others involved in their rehabilitation, and document results of the training.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
• Support individuals' treatment plans by documenting and reporting status changes to the multidisciplinary team members as appropriate.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program.
• Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in the state of practice.
• Current CPR certification in accordance with state regulations.
• Knowledge of evidence-based therapy interventions.
• Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics, and/or home health.
• One year of experience preferred.
• New graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform moving, lifting, or transferring of patients, which may involve lifting up to 100 pounds following safety procedures.
• Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/standing for extended periods.
• Additional physical requirements include pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and repositioning frequently.
• A health screening or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on location policy and regulations, to verify physical capability for duties with or without accommodations.
