Job summary

St. Luke’s Health–Brazosport Hospital in Lake Jackson, TX seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant to help patients rebuild and maintain mobility, reduce pain, and improve quality of life. You will perform initial evaluations, develop plans of care, and apply therapies as part of a multidisciplinary team.

The role requires state licensure eligible, an associate degree in Physical Therapist Assistant, CPR/BLS, and commitment to patient-centered care. Pay ranges from $27.43 to $40.80 per hour.

Qualifications

• Associates degree in Physical Therapist Assistant or graduates eligible for licensure in TX.
• CPR/BLS certification within 14 days.

Responsibilities

• Administers therapeutic exercises and modalities per care plan.
• Instructs and assists patients in functional activities such as transfers and ambulation.
• Monitors patients; reports progress to supervising PT or physicians.
• Fits and trains patients in use of braces, prostheses, and mobility aids.
• Performs clerical duties as needed.
• Promotes professional customer service and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Physical Therapist, you will help patients rebuild or maintain their physical wellbeing so they can function at their best level, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life.

Every day you will perform initial evaluations, develop and update individualized plans of care, and provide a variety of direct treatments. You will be expected to consistently meet patient care productivity standards, collaborate with the interdisciplinary team and families, and promote a positive customer service environment.

To be successful in this role, you must possess strong age-appropriate competency skills, excellent communication abilities, and a collaborative, patient-centered approach to care.

• Administers therapeutic exercises and physical therapy modalities according to the physical therapy plan of care
• Instructs, motivates and Assists patients to learn and improve functional activity, such as pre-ambulation, transfer, ambulation and daily living activities
• Observes patients during treatments, Assesses, and compiles data on patients’ responses to treatments and progress and reports verbally or in writing to the physical therapist; may communicate updates to physicians
• Fit patients for, adjusts, and trains patients in the use and care of orthopedic braces, prostheses, and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, walkers and wheelchairs
• May perform clerical duties
• Promotes and Supports positive and professional customer service, while interacting with clients, guests and hospital personnel. Works collaboratively with all members of the interdisciplinary team, other departments and disciplines to assure patients and customer’s needs are met in a timely manner. Encourages the active participation of the patient and/or family in goal setting and patient/family training/education

Pay Range
