Position

Physical Therapist Assistant - Geriatric

Salary: $26-30 per hour

Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday-Friday with weekend rotation

Facility: Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF) and Long-Term Care (LTC) Outpatient Clinic, specializing in Acquired Brain Injury (ABI) and Stroke rehabilitation.

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team at our specialized geriatric facility. As a Physical Therapist Assistant, you will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide rehabilitative services to our geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and implementing individualized treatment plans for patients based on their specific needs and goals
• Perform therapeutic exercises and activities to improve mobility, strength, and coordination
• Utilize modalities such as heat, ice, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation to aid in pain management and healing
• Educate patients and their families on proper techniques and exercises to continue their rehabilitation at home
• Monitor and document patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and effective care for each patient
• Participate in regular team meetings and contribute to the development of new treatment strategies and protocols
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation
• Adhere to all legal and ethical standards and maintain patient confidentiality at all times

Requirements

• Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assistant program
• Current state PTA license
• Minimum of 1-2 years of experience working with geriatric patients, preferably in a SNF or LTC setting
• Experience with ABI and Stroke rehabilitation is highly preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Basic computer skills and proficiency in electronic medical record systems
