Job summary

Aptiva Health in Indianapolis, IN is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to support our orthopedic and rehab teams. This position can be part-time or full-time and offers a Monday–Friday schedule, with no nights or weekends.

The PTA will work under a Physical Therapist to deliver treatment plans, document patient progress, and uphold infection control standards while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• PTA certification is required.
• Registered NPI Number is required.
• Experience in orthopedic/rehabilitation settings is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist in delivering treatment plans to improve mobility and function.
• Evaluate patients by reviewing histories, conducting assessments, and documenting findings.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and functional activities under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Instruct patients in home exercise programs and use of assistive devices.
• Monitor patient progress and communicate changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure infection control and safety practices.

Job Responsibilities:

• Assist the Physical Therapist in delivering individualized treatment plans to improve patient mobility, function, and quality of life.
• Evaluate patients by reviewing medical histories, conducting assessments, and documenting findings.
• Administer therapeutic exercises, functional activities, manual therapy techniques, and other treatment interventions under the direction of a Physical Therapist.
• Instruct and motivate patients in therapeutic exercises, use of assistive devices, and home exercise programs.
• Monitor patient progress, document treatment outcomes, and communicate changes to the Physical Therapist.
• Maintain accurate patient records and ensure compliance with documentation standards.
• Follow infection control, safety, and regulatory guidelines to maintain a safe clinical environment.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development to maintain clinical knowledge and skills.
  Perform other duties as assigned to support patient care and clinic operations.
• Must be able to complete a minimum of two weeks of in-person training at our corporate office in Louisville, KY.
