University Health & Rehabilitation Center in Durham, NC is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to support residents with physical therapy needs under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist. You will assess needs, help implement treatment plans, and document progress.
The ideal candidate has an accredited PTA program, has taken the NPTE or is eligible to take it, and holds or is eligible for state licensure.
MUST BE A GRADUATE OF AN ACCREDITED PROGRAM AS A PHYSICAL THERAPIST ASSISTANT PTA,HAVE TAKEN THE NPTE EXAM OR ELIGIBLE TO TAKEN IT AND HAVE A STATE LICENSE TO PRACTICE AS ONE OR ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR ONE.
Assesses the needs of residents with physical therapy needs and matches their needs with services available. Meets with residents regularly according to treatment program schedule, evaluates, and maintains records of residents' progress under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
Keeps current with professional literature and attends seminars on a regular basis to maintain and update professional skills and licensure.
Hearing ability sufficient to evaluate residents' occupational therapy needs.
Skill communicating verbally and in writing with residents, staff and family members under the supervision of the Physical Therapist so that all parties understand the program and the degree of progress being made.
