Job summary

Topaz Fiscal Services LLC is seeking a qualified Physical Therapist Assistant to provide clinical services under physician orders, assist the Physical Therapist, and maintain accurate patient records.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy, an active New York PTA license, and excellent communication skills; familiarity with accreditation standards and regulatory requirements is a plus.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical services to appropriate residents under physician orders.
• Report patient progress, complications, and response to treatment to the Physical Therapist.
• Assist Physical Therapist in procedures, tests, and complex treatments for safe evaluation and treatment.
• Participate in continuing education and professional development.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient, facility, and physician information.
• Maintain accurate billing information daily per procedures.
• Attend interdisciplinary meetings to relay clinical findings and recommendations.
• Attend family meetings as appropriate.
• Adhere to Rehabilitation department and facility documentation requirements.
• Conduct staff training and in-services as appropriate.
• Review and follow facility policies and Rehab Manual.
• Supervise non-professional staff as appropriate.

Job description

The Physical Therapist Assistant must have: Associates Degree in Physical Therapy, current license in the state, excellent oral and written communication skills, and knowledge of accreditation standards and compliance within state and federal regulations related to the environment of treatment.
The Physical Therapy Assistant:

• Provides clinical services to appropriate residents under physician’s orders
• Reports information relating to the patient’s progress, complications, and/or response to treatment to the Physical Therapist
• Assists Physical Therapist in performing procedures, test and complex treatments to ensure the safe, effective evaluation and treatment of patients
• Assumes responsibility for continued professional growth and development by participating in continuing education programs and other appropriate learning experiences
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient, facility, and physician-related information
• Maintains accurate billing information, in accordance with procedures, on a daily basis
• Attends and participates in interdisciplinary meetings, as appropriate, to relay clinical findings and recommendations to other members of the rehab team
• Attends and participates in family meetings, as appropriate
• Adheres to documentation requirements of the Rehabilitation department and the facility
• Conducts staff training/education, as appropriate, via formal and informal in-services and consultations
• Reviews and follows the policies and procedures outlined by the facility and Rehab Policy and Procedure Manual
• Supervises non-professional staff, as appropriate
