Career Links in Iowa is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to provide home health services across the state. You will work one-on-one with patients in their homes to improve mobility, regain independence, and support rehabilitation goals.

You will operate under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, implement individualized plans, educate caregivers, document services, and coordinate with the medical team to ensure safe, effective care and compliant practice.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a CAPTE-accredited PTA program with an Associate Degree.
• Current Iowa PTA license issued by the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy.
• Current CPR/BLS certification or ability to obtain before start.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Home health experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide physical therapy treatments under the direction of a licensed PT.
• Assist patients with therapeutic exercises, gait training, balance, transfers, and mobility.
• Monitor patient responses and report progress or concerns to the supervising PT.
• Educate patients and caregivers on exercises, safety, and mobility strategies.
• Maintain accurate documentation of services provided.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and caregivers.
• Follow treatment plans and contribute to achieving patient goals.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, state regulations, and Medicare guidelines.

Position Overview

The Physical Therapist Assistant will work under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to implement individualized treatment plans for patients recovering from injury, illness, surgery, or managing chronic conditions. The PTA will provide skilled therapeutic interventions while promoting patient safety, functional mobility, and independence in the home environment.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services provided.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, caregivers, and other members of the healthcare team.
• Follow established treatment plans and contribute to achieving patient goals.
• Ensure compliance with agency policies, state regulations, and Medicare guidelines.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program with an Associate Degree in Physical Therapist Assisting.
• Current Iowa Physical Therapist Assistant License issued by the Iowa Board of Physical and Occupational Therapy.
