Job summary

Brookings Health System is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant to join our team in Brookings, SD. The PTA will provide skilled support under the supervision of a Physical Therapist to improve mobility, strength, and independence.

The position is full time with a benefit package, primarily serving Home Health but may see residents at our long-term care facility. Requires an Associate degree and state licensure; CPR within 60 days and a valid driver's license are required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
• Current state licensure – new graduates will be considered.
• CPR required or obtained within 60 days of employment.
• Possess a valid driving license and capable of being covered by insurance.

Responsibilities

• Implement individualized treatment plans developed by the supervising PT.
• Provide therapeutic exercises, gait and transfer training, and functional mobility activities.
• Monitor the individual’s progress and report outcomes to the supervising PT.
• Educate individuals, families, and caregivers on exercise and safety.
• Assist in maintaining therapy equipment and supplies.

Compensation range for this benefit eligible position is $22.42 to $33.19, depending on experience.

Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) provides skilled support under the direction of a Physical Therapist (PT) to help individuals improve mobility, strength, and functional independence.

JOB TYPE:

Full time, benefit eligible 40 hours per week Home Health will be the primary area but will also see residents at our long term care facility on occasion.
