Job summary

Ascension in Austin, Texas, is seeking a dedicated Physical Therapy Assistant to support the Acute Care Rehabilitation department at Dell Seton Medical Center. This full-time role involves delivering prescribed PT under supervision, documenting interventions, and coordinating with therapy staff.

Minimum qualifications include a Texas PTA credential within 6 months and a BLS within 30 days. A high school diploma or GED is required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider within 30 days of hire date (AHA or ARC accepted).
• PTA credentialed from the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners within 180 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Conduct medically prescribed physical therapy under the supervision of a physical therapist.
• Provide physical therapy interventions under a plan of care written by a physical therapist.
• Perform therapy interventions utilizing techniques and skills as appropriate for the patient population.
• Document treatment interventions given.
• May coordinate activities of physical therapy aides, students and other support personnel.

What minimum requirements you’ll need

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) credentialed from the Texas Board of Physical Therapy Examiners within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date required.

Education:

• High school diploma or GED required.
