Job summary

Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO is seeking a licensed Physical Therapist to perform objective assessments and create comprehensive treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients.

You will supervise patients directly and supervise rehabilitation technicians and PT assistants in line with State Practice Acts, collaborating with an interdisciplinary team to improve function and outcomes.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor, MSPT or DPT in Physical Therapy.
• Current/Temporary license to practice Physical Therapy in the state.
• BLS certification required; certifications must be current.
• Preferred experience: 6–12 months in rehab for adults/geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

• Perform objective assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for adults and geriatrics.
• Direct supervision of patients and indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians.
• General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts.

Under the general supervision of Therapy Leadership and according to departmental policies and procedures regarding referral, standards of treatment, performs objective assessments, as well as comprehensive individualized treatment programs for adult and geriatric patients. Responsible for direct supervision to patients, indirect supervision of rehabilitation technicians. General supervision of PT assistants in accordance with State Practice Acts. Tuition Reimbursement
Up to $2,000/year for continuing education

Education: Bachelor, Master of Science in Physical Therapy or Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

Licensure: Current/Temporary license of Physical Therapy in state of practice.
Certifications: BLS certified. Required certifications must be current before assigned to care for patients independently.
Preferred Experience: Six months to one year experience is preferred for Rehabilitation Physical Therapist. Prefer experience with care for adult and geriatric patients.

Physical Requirements:

• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
