Job summary

Sentara Health in Woodbridge, VA seeks a licensed Physical Therapist for our outpatient rehabilitation team. You will participate in orthopedic/MSK/sports medicine care, performing modalities, providing patient and family education, and contributing to collaborative care planning.

New graduates are welcome. Training opportunities in advanced modalities may be supported, with Guild Education benefits available for skill development. Multiple shifts available in a dynamic outpatient setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy is required.
• Active Physical Therapist License is required.
• Experience with modalities/therapeutic interventions and education to patients/families as part of standard care.

Responsibilities

• Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions per standards of care and department policies.
• Provides patient and family education through standardized programs or individualized training.
• Initiates and maintains collaborative interactions with internal and external team members to improve patient outcomes.
• Establishes and updates formal plans of care addressing individual patient needs.

Assess, plan, organize, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve functional mobility, relieve pain, and improve or correct disabling conditions resulting from disease or injury. Provides age-appropriate education for clients and caregivers. Supervise and assume responsibility for care provided by identified team members.

Our adult outpatient hospital rehabilitation therapy center is seeking a physical Therapist to join our team clinically focused in outpatient orthopedic/MSK/sports medicine care. We have a team of physical therapists, chiropractors and message.

Candidates should have training and certification in, or interested in obtaining training and certification in: manual therapy skills Maitland, Mulligan, Mckenzie, IASTM, BP Restriction, SFMA, Dry Needling.

Guild Education Benefits will cover costs for obtaining the training in most cases (ask more when applying).

Education

• Bachelor's Degree (Required)
• Master's Degree (Preferred)
• Doctorate Degree in Physical Therapy

Certification/Licensure

• Physical Therapist License (Required)

Experience

• Performs modalities/therapeutic interventions in accordance with accepted standards of care and department policies and procedures.
• Provides effective instruction to the patient and family through standardized educational programs and/or individualized training.
• Initiate, develop, and maintain collaborative interactions with internal and external team members, patients, and family members to improve patient outcomes. Productive and efficient in daily operations.
• Selects and performs the appropriate assessment procedures. Establishes and updates formal plan of care to address individual patient needs.
