  • Instruct and guide patients in activities of daily living and use of assistive devices.
  • Coordinate care with physicians and staff to optimize patient outcomes.

Job Description includes:

The Physical Therapist will have the following requirements:

  • Masters or Baccalaureate degree in Physical Therapy from an American Physical Therapist Association (APTA) approved program.
  • Any state Physical Therapist License
  • Graduate from college or University approved by the CAPTE
  • Experience required to meet clinical competency requirements specified by the Base
  • Valid BLS certification
Core Duties:
  • Perform a full range of physical therapist services in accordance with the scope of clinicalprivileges granted by the MTF including differential diagnosis.
  • Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on an evaluation of the patient.
  • Administer manual exercises to improve and maintain function.
  • Instruct, motivate, and assist patients in performing various physical activities, such asnon-manual exercises, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and in useof assistive and supportive devices, such as crutches, canes, and prostheses.
  • Administer manual therapy to include: joint mobilization/manipulation and soft tissuemobilization, applying knowledge of mobilization techniques and body physiology.
  • Certification in dry needling preferred.
  • Administer traction to relieve pain, using traction equipment.
  • Record treatment, response, and progress in patient's chart and/or automated systems.
  • Coordinate treatment with physician and other staff members to obtain additional patientinformation, suggest revisions in treatment program and integrate physical therapytreatment with other aspects of the patient's health care.
  • Contact referring physiciansregarding patient care concerns, as required.
  • Perform prevention and wellness activities, education, screening, and promote positivehealth behaviors.
