Job summary

IU Health is seeking a Physical Therapist to provide services at Jay Hospital in Portland, IN. This full-time role covers inpatient and outpatient care with weekend rotation, contributing to both patient recovery and department operations.

The ideal candidate holds a doctoral or equivalent degree in physical therapy, holds an Indiana PT license, and maintains BLS certification. Advanced life support may be required by department policy.

Qualifications

• Doctoral or pre-2016 bachelor/master in physical therapy.
• Current Indiana Physical Therapist license.
• BLS certification through the AHA.
• ALS may be required per unit/patient care policies.

Responsibilities

• Provides physical therapy services to restore function, reduce pain and prevent disability following disease or injury, and assists patients to reach maximum performance levels.
• Provides all components of direct patient care including supervision of physical therapist assistants, support personnel and students.
• Willingly participates in related activities in support of patient care, education and department operations.

Education

Doctoral Degree in Physical Therapy

Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in Physical Therapy (prior to 2016)

Indiana Physical Therapy License

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty

• Requires a Doctoral Degree from an accredited academic program in physical therapy or a Bachelor’s/Master’s Degree in physical therapy prior to 2016. If foreign trained, graduation from a physical therapy education program outside the US with educationally equivalent coursework accepted by Indiana PLA.
• Requires current Physical Therapist license in the State of Indiana.
• Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
• Advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department specialty according to patient care policies.
