Job description

Job Summary

The position is under the general direction of the Facility Manager. The main focus is providing superior outpatient rehabilitation services through a collaborative care model with our physicians in order to optimize performance and enhance the quality of function for patients.

Job Type

Part‑time (16 hours per week)

Responsibilities
  • Exceptional patient care
  • Interpret physician orders, perform initial evaluations, and establish treatment plans and functional goals
  • Upgrade and amend treatment goals as necessary during the episode of care
  • Write documentation on patient status to physicians per compliance guidelines of IBJI rehab
  • Determine appropriate discharge timeline and follow‑up
  • Supervise rehabilitation technicians with patient care and administrative staff as needed
  • Comply with daily paperwork; PT/PTAs/ATCs must document all treatment in patient charts promptly (initial evaluations, daily notes, progress notes, discharges, HEP)
  • Stay current with billing policies and demonstrate ethical billing practices
  • Maintain active state license by earning appropriate CEUs through outside courses and IBJI‑sponsored educational opportunities
  • Develop positive relationships with the physician teams at IBJI
  • Take an active role in the patient medical team: office visits with physicians, contact with case managers, etc.
  • Participate in programs sponsored by IBJI: mentoring, clinical educator, special interest group, community outreach
Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited physical therapy program
  • Licensed or eligible to sit for boards in Illinois
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment
  • Professional and effective writing and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds
  • Demonstrate understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling and pushing
  • Ability to stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes
  • Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day
