Physical Therapist

Location: Taconic Rehabilitation and Nursing at Hopewell

Shift: Full Time

Rate: $45.00/hr. to $52.24/hr. (depending on experience)

Job Description: Physical Therapist Floats work with patients to improve their movement and manage their pain. PTs use a variety of techniques to help their patients, including hands‑on therapy, strengthening and stretching exercises, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, ice/heat, and much more.

Responsibilities:

• Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients to understand their physical condition and developing or following a treatment plan.
• Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care.
• Creating personalized fitness‑oriented health care programs for patients.
• Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility.
• Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patient.
• Demonstrate ability to work with geriatric residents.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Physical Therapist licensure.
• Degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) required.
• CPR certification.
• Physical strength to lift between 50-100lbs.
• Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age‑specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients.
• Must have up‑to‑date knowledge for treatment practices and physical therapy programs.
• Experience in long term care preferred.
• Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable.
• Strong customer service skills and compassion.
• Able to collaborate with a wide range of health care disciplines, as well as offer insight to patient and family members.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Respect for residents’ privacy and rights; display of genuine concern and empathy for the elderly.
• Able to perform tasks while upholding high standards of quality, cleanliness, and kindness.
