Job description

Matrix Providers is hiring a Physical Therapist to join our team of talented professionals who provide health care services to our Military Service Members and their families at Travis Air Force Base in Fairfield, CA.

Employment Details
  1. Employment Status: Full Time
  2. Schedule: Sunday - Saturday 0730-1630, 8-hour workdays not to exceed 40 hours/week.

Qualifications
  • Degree: Doctoral degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program acceptable to the USAF Surgeon General and the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education.
  • Education: Graduate from an approved college or university by CAPTE.
  • Experience: Minimum 24 months of outpatient orthopedics experience in the past 36 months and at least 12 months of acute inpatient physical therapy in the past 7 years.
  • Licensure: Current, active, and unrestricted license to practice as a physical therapist.
Core Job Duties
  1. Perform a full range of physical therapist services within the scope of clinical privileges.
  2. Conduct examinations, evaluations, diagnoses, and prognosis for DoD beneficiaries using various therapeutic concepts and methodologies.
  3. Provide therapeutic procedures and services supporting patient referrals and direct access.
  4. Ensure patient care is safe, timely, and meets treatment goals while complying with medical staff guidelines.
  5. Assess patients' strength, motor development, sensory perception, and functional capacity; record findings to guide treatment.
  6. Administer modalities and pharmaceuticals for pain relief, including joint and soft tissue mobilization.
  7. Instruct patients and families in therapeutic exercises and treatment continuation at home.
  8. Evaluate, fit, and recommend orthotic devices, making adjustments as needed.
  9. Document treatment plans, discharge, and referral recommendations.
  10. Participate in team meetings, seminars, and quality assurance activities.
  11. Supervise and train physical therapy assistants, interns, and other providers.
  12. Plan and prepare written treatment programs based on patient evaluation.
  13. Administer manual exercises and assist patients with functional activities and device use.
  14. Apply mobilization and traction techniques to relieve pain.
  15. Record treatment responses and progress in patient records.
  16. Coordinate with physicians and staff to optimize patient care and treatment plans.
  17. Engage in prevention, wellness, education, and health promotion activities.
