Position: Physical Therapist - Outpatient Clinic - Mercy Health Fairfield Medical Specialty/Neurologic PT

Job Description

Mercy Health Physical Therapy, Fairfield, seeks a compassionate and skilled physical therapist committed to excellence. Our outpatient rehabilitation team specializes in evidenced-based neurological care, working closely with physicians to deliver impairment-based, hands-on, evidence-based treatment on a one-to-one basis. Therapists are trained in the latest advanced skills.

Responsibilities
  1. Evaluate, plan, and implement physical therapy services based on impairment approach, standards of practice, state laws, and departmental policies.
  2. Maintain current licensure as a physical therapist in Ohio.
  3. Obtain and maintain CPR certification.
  4. Neurological training and/or certifications are preferred.
  5. Collaborate effectively with physicians, PTs, and rehab professionals.
  6. Educate patients, families, caregivers, and treatment teams.
  7. Manage a busy caseload effectively.
Minimum Requirements
  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Current license to practice in Ohio.
  • Advanced degrees or certifications in neurological physical therapy are preferred but not required.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist conducts assessments and provides therapeutic interventions for patients in outpatient, inpatient, pediatric, and off-site settings, contributing to the continuum of care.

Essential Functions
  1. Evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and adjust as needed.
  2. Provide direct therapy following established standards and instruct patients and families.
  3. Maintain accurate records and documentation in electronic medical records.
  4. Maintain productivity standards without compromising quality.
  5. Adhere to safety, infection control, and departmental policies.
  6. Supervise physical therapist assistants and support professional growth.
Education & Licensing
  • Current licensure as a Physical Therapist in Ohio.
  • BLS certification (preferred upon hire, required within 30 days for some locations).
Experience & Skills
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience (preferred).
  • Proficiency in computer skills and analytical thinking.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
