Job summary

UAB Medicine in Birmingham, AL, seeks a licensed Physical Therapist for the Acute Rehab Services department. The role is full-time with day shifts, including rotating weekends and holidays; PRN shifts are also available at UAB St. Vincent's Birmingham.

The position involves performing initial and ongoing assessments, planning and evaluating a care plan, and delivering PT interventions while supervising assistants and students. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days of hire date.
• Currently registered as a Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) or Registered PT (RPT) by the Alabama Board of Physical Therapy.
• Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and on-going assessments of patient condition.
• Establish, revise and evaluate a plan of care aligned with identified problems involving patient/family.
• Deliver therapy interventions using standard physical therapy techniques appropriate to the patient.
• Oversee activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.

Job Description

Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.

• Perform initial and on-going assessments of patient's condition.
• Establish, revise and evaluate a plan of care which is appropriate to problems identified and involve the patient/family.
• Perform therapy intervention utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills as appropriate for the condition of the patient.
• Oversee activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support personnel.

Qualifications

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Currently registered as a Registered Physical Therapist (PT) or (RPT) by the State of Alabama Board of Physical Therapy required.

Education

• Graduate from an accredited School of Physical Therapy required.
