Job summary

Baylor Scott & White Health is seeking a Physical Therapist for the BSWH THE PLAZA location in College Station, TX. The role focuses on outpatient orthopedics, patient evaluation, treatment planning, and discharge planning to maximize functional outcomes.

Preferred candidates are currently in an accredited PT program or hold a temporary license, with experience in outpatient ortho and certifications such as Dry needling, CSCS, or SCS being highly desired. Sign-on bonus available for new hires.

Qualifications

• Must have attended or currently attending an accredited PT program or hold a temp PT license.
• Experience in outpatient orthopedics and advanced certifications such as Dry needling, CSCS, SCS are highly desired.
• Education: Masters or Bachelors in PT with 2+ years of work experience above minimum qualifications.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Evaluates, treats, and monitors patients; modifies therapy programs and goals as needed.
• Documents thoroughly and timely; enters charges accurately and understands practice reimbursement.
• Communicates effectively with patients, families, staff, and the care team; provides education accordingly.
• Supervises support staff, students, and volunteers when needed.
• Advances clinical skills through ongoing education and evidence-based practice; adheres to regulatory guidelines.
• Maintains alignment with system goals and departmental objectives.

Essential Functions Of The Role

PATIENT CARE: Evaluates, treats and monitors patient. Modifies therapy program and goals.

ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES: Performs thorough and concise clinical documentation in a timely manner. Enters charges accurately. Understands reimbursement related to practice setting.

COMMUNICATION: Communicates effectively with patients and families, departmental coworkers, and members of the medical care team. Provides education to patients, family and staff.

CLINICAL SUPERVISION: Supervises support staff, students and volunteers.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT: Advances clinical skills through ongoing education, literature review and implementation of evidence based practice. Shares knowledge to develop the clinical skills of colleagues. Adheres to organizational, national, and state regulatory guidelines.

ORGANIZATIONAL FOCUS: Maintains awareness of system goals. Aligns individual goals and work activities to support or impact the system goals.

KEY SUCCESS FACTORS

Must possess problem solving skills of the type and at a level necessary to accomplish the job.

Must possess good communication skills and be able to relate professionally and positively to patients, patient's family members, and facility staff.

Exhibits strong interpersonal, teamwork and leadership skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians and coworkers.

Possesses proficient computer knowledge; operates multiple computer systems and standard Rehabilitation equipment.
