Our client is seeking to contract with a highly motivated physical security systems engineer. In this role, you will act as the Physical Security Systems Architect for Sodium Fast Reactor technologies, including responsibility for the physical security systems design, prototype development and testing, plant level system integration, and commissioning. Your role will include interfacing with a team of scientists and engineers, both internal and external. You will also identify, specify, and integrate custom instrumentation with advanced control systems for Generation IV advanced nuclear reactor technologies.

Responsibilities :
- Develop and support supporting design documentation for a geographically diverse and international design team, including in-house, subcontracted, and partner resources.
- Lead the design of physical security instrumentation and control systems from requirements through final design.
- Review and develop system and component-level specifications and scopes of work.
- Perform evaluations considering nuclear codes, standards, licensing, and NRC regulations.
- Provide technical guidance on nuclear and physical security design standards.
- Specify and describe digital asset control techniques for sodium fast reactors and energy storage environments, including impact analysis.
- Design and analyze digital system architectures, ensuring compliance with regulatory criteria and standards.
- Draft and review technical documents such as System Requirements, Design Descriptions, Interface Control Documents, and Engineering Specifications.
- Create and manage drawings including P&IDs, control system architectures, logic diagrams, and installation drawings.
- Coordinate with suppliers, oversee project deliverables, and ensure compliance with TerraPower requirements.
- Promote continuous improvement and application of industry best practices.
- Integrate security system architecture with multidisciplinary teams and support licensing activities.
Key Qualifications and Skills :
- Experience with nuclear physical security systems (video assessment, intrusion detection, security computers).
- Knowledge of Nuclear Physical Security Plan and Regulation (10CFR73.55).
- Experience in digital design of nuclear systems, including writing or reviewing design packages.
- B.S. or higher in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field with 6+ years of relevant experience.
- Proven experience in instrumentation and controls digital system development and integration.
- Mandatory experience with nuclear security systems or digital system design.
- Familiarity with IEEE and IEC standards is desirable.
- Knowledge of Nuclear Cyber Security Plan and design control in nuclear QA standards is a plus.
- Ability to manage complex projects with multiple objectives and resolve conflicts.
- Experience with CAD tools for design deliverables is preferred.
- Excellent communication, technical writing, and presentation skills.
- Self-starter with leadership qualities and team coordination skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks with a multidisciplinary approach.
- Experience with digital system testing procedures is desirable.

Estimated Compensation Range : $50.00 - $100.00 per hour. This range considers all experience levels.
