The Physical Security Programs team at the Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) plays a critical role in overseeing and monitoring campus security initiatives. The Manager of Physical Security Programs provides leadership and direction to staff responsible for tracking, coordinating, and reporting on security projects that impact the Senate community.
The Manager works closely with internal stakeholders and cross-functional partners to communicate project status, oversee security systems and initiatives, and identify and recommend best-practice solutions, technologies, and products. This role serves as a key representative of the SAA and requires strong collaboration, communication, and project management skills.
The ideal candidate is highly detail-oriented and organized, with the ability to effectively develop and deliver presentations, prepare clear and concise written reports, and communicate complex security information to a variety of audiences.
The successful candidate demonstrates sound judgment, professionalism, and a commitment to maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders while providing excellent customer service.
Provides leadership, support, and guidance to on-campus physical security personnel. Directs and manages key physical security programs, projects, and general security in and around Capitol Grounds. Supervises development of requirements, standard operating procedures, and policies for physical security programs; tracks and monitors the budget and financial aspects of the physical security program. Supervises security surveys and risk/vulnerability assessments, and provides recommendations to address the security needs of vulnerable facilities or sites and the threats against them. Consults with operating personnel and other security specialists to devise protection systems that provide maximum security with the least interference in the organization's mission.
