Ladders is seeking a Physical Network & Structured Cabling Engineer to design and govern the physical network infrastructure for large-scale data centers. You will translate logical requirements into scalable cabling designs while partnering with engineering teams, design consultants, contractors, and operations stakeholders.

This remote US-based role focuses on installation quality, commissioning readiness, and maintaining accurate technical documentation across global sites.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in engineering, telecommunications, or related field.
• 10+ years designing physical network infrastructure for large-scale data centers.
• Strong data center topology and high-speed optical connectivity knowledge.
• Experience coordinating with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Excellent communication with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify physical network infrastructure for data center buildings and campuses.
• Develop standards and installation guidelines for structured cabling and network deployments.
• Translate logical network architectures into scalable physical designs in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Provide technical direction to design consultants and installation contractors.
• Define installation quality criteria and oversee inspection and testing of cabling systems.
• Lead design reviews and conduct site inspections for installation quality.
• Troubleshoot issues during build and commissioning phases to ensure network readiness.
• Maintain physical network documentation, including design requirements and as-built records.

For our client, we are seeking a Physical Network & Structured Cabling Engineer to join the team of a leader in the Information Technology space.

This role will focus on designing and governing the physical network infrastructure that supports large-scale data center environments. You will translate logical network requirements into scalable cabling and connectivity designs while partnering closely with engineering teams, design consultants, contractors, and operations stakeholders. The position will also play a key role in installation quality, commissioning readiness, and maintaining accurate technical documentation across global sites.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $120,000 – $145,000 annually

Responsibilities

• Design and specify physical network infrastructure for data center buildings and campuses

• Willingness to travel frequently to global data center sites
