Job summary

United States Digital Space LLC is seeking a Data Center Network and Structured Cabling Engineer with 10+ years of experience to design, implement, and validate optimized network and cabling solutions for large data center campuses.

You will own end-to-end physical infrastructure, develop standards and installation guidelines, coordinate with cross-functional teams and vendors, review drawings and cable schedules, ensure performance, reliability, and scalability, and travel to global sites as

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience designing and delivering physical network infrastructure for large-scale data centers.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Telecommunications, or related field, or equivalent experience.
• Strong understanding of data center topologies and high-speed optical connectivity.
• Expertise in ANSI/TIA, BICSI standards and related cabling guidelines.
• Ability to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external vendors.
• Strong skills in reading drawings, cable schedules, and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to engage stakeholders.
• Willingness to travel frequently to global data center sites.

Responsibilities

• Design and specify physical network infrastructure across data center buildings and campuses, including fiber and copper cabling, network rooms, rack layouts, cable trays, and duct bank pathways.
• Develop standards, reference designs, and installation guidelines for structured cabling and physical network deployments.
• Translate logical network architectures into scalable physical designs with redundancy and capacity planning.
• Provide technical direction to design consultants, cabling vendors, and installation contractors.
• Define installation quality and acceptance criteria, and oversee testing and turnover of structured cabling systems.
• Lead physical network design reviews, conduct site inspections and resolve clashes with other disciplines.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues during build, commissioning, and handover phases.
• Develop and maintain physical network documentation including drawings, port maps, cables schedules, BOMs, labeling, and as-built records.
• Provide feedback to drive continuous improvement of physical network standards.
