Salary range: The Total Negotiated Salary (TNS) calculations include the 75th percentile 3-year Average AAMC salary benchmark for Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, ranging from $285,511 to $373,046. The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and/or step at appointment. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan, which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
The University of California Irvine Department of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R) seeks a physician-scientist with research expertise in clinical translational or basic science to join as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor of Clinical Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation, depending on qualifications. Applicants should be board-certified or board-eligible in PM&R and eligible for a California medical license by the start date.
Criteria for the Professor of Clinical "X" Series: Conduct substantial research, provide patient care, teach fellows, residents, and medical students, and perform public and University service. Teaching excellence is essential for appointment in this series.
All ranks should demonstrate a record of research, significant contributions to research programs, or involvement in creative activities, which may include clinical-translational projects, health services/health outcomes research, educational scholarship, or bench research.

Facilities include UCI Health clinical locations, inpatient consultation services, and ambulatory care clinics serving diverse populations. The UCI Medical Center is a 459-bed hospital and a regional Level I trauma center, rated among America's Best Hospitals for 21 years. A new hospital, UCI Medical Center-Irvine, is under construction, and UCI Health Rehabilitation Hospital will be a new 52-bed facility in Irvine.
