Job summary

The John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit is seeking a Physiatrist for its PM&R Section within the Rehabilitation and Extended Care Line.

The physician will independently provide clinical services to eligible Veterans in inpatient and outpatient settings, interacting with Veterans, families, and community staff. Responsibilities include leading PM&R evaluations, coordinating care with multidisciplinary teams, and participating in education of residents and medical students.

Qualifications

• US citizenship required; non-citizens considered only when recruitment is not possible.
• MD or DO degree from an approved medical school.
• Current full and unrestricted medical license in the US or DC.
• Residency in PM&R approved by ACGME/AOA or equivalent.
• Board certification preferred in PM&R.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for inpatient and/or outpatient PM&R teams.
• Educate residents, fellows, medical students and other health-care trainees.
• Deliver expert PM&R evaluations and treatments, including telehealth modalities.
• Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and primary care providers.
