Job summary

Excelon Solutions in the United States is seeking a software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain features for a mission-critical telecom platform. You will work on a mature, ten-year-old codebase with PHP/Laravel for backend and Vue.js/TypeScript/Tailwind for frontend.

You will diagnose production issues, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and participate in peer code reviews while leveraging AI-assisted tools to accelerate development and ensure quality through automated tests

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain features for a mission-critical telecommunications operations platform.
• Work within a mature, approximately ten-year-old application and codebase.
• Develop backend services and application functionality using PHP and Laravel.
• Build responsive, maintainable user interfaces using Vue.js, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Diagnose and resolve complex application, data, workflow, and production issues.
• Apply strong telecommunications knowledge to translate operational requirements into reliable software solutions.
• Use GitLab to manage source control, merge requests, issue workflows, releases, and development documentation.
• Evaluate existing functionality before making changes to preserve backward compatibility and operational stability.
• Participate actively in peer code reviews and provide clear, constructive technical feedback.
• Help quality-assure peer development through functional testing, regression testing, and validation of acceptance criteria.
• Collaborate with developers, quality assurance personnel, product owners, operations teams, and telecommunications subject-matter experts.
• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to accelerate coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and technical analysis.
• Create and maintain automated tests, technical documentation, implementation notes, and support procedures.
• Contribute to application modernization, technical-debt reduction, performance improvements, and architectural planning.
• Support production releases and assist with troubleshooting when operational issues arise.
