Lightmatter is seeking a Photonics PDK Modeling Engineer to develop our internal Process Design Kit (PDK) and architect the component library, bridging photonics device design and system-level verification.

You will develop robust compact models for active and passive devices, create Python-based pcells, and push CI-driven validation, collaborating across design and test teams.

Competenze

• Master’s degree or PhD in related field with relevant experience.
• Deep understanding of photonic device physics and simulation.
• Experience building behavioral models for circuit simulators.
• Python for modeling, automation, and data analysis; OOP; NumPy/SciPy.
• Python-based layout experience.
• Strong problem-solving abilities in complex design challenges.

Mansioni

• Develop and maintain a library of pcells using Python frameworks with synchronized layout, nets, and models.
• Create and verify physics-based behavior models for devices.
• Design test structures and plans for device FOM extraction; collaborate with test engineers.
• Validate models against lab measurements; perform data fitting to align with silicon.
• Implement regression testing and CI pipelines to protect designs and connectivity.
• Collaborate with design, analog, digital and architecture teams for tape-outs.
