Job summary

Thorlabs is seeking a Photonics Learning Specialist to oversee the setup and delivery of educational events across its virtual and in-person platforms, ensuring high‑quality, accessible learning experiences for diverse audiences.

Based in Newton, NJ, the role works with event support and content teams to plan, teach, and demonstrate lab techniques, and to expand the educational portfolio through feedback and new demonstrations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience working in a photonics lab.
• 5+ years of experience educating STEM students.
• 5+ years of experience providing technical presentations.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate photonics learning events and manage event requests.
• Teach educational content in person and virtually, explaining background, process and results.
• Present lab techniques and discuss pros/cons of alternatives.
• Collaborate with internal experts to ensure clear, accurate explanations.
