Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking a Photonics Engineer to provide technical expertise in Ansys photonics and optical simulations, supporting customers and aiding pre‑sales teams. Qualifications

• BS in optics, physics, electrical engineering or related field; MS preferred.
• At least 1 year of experience with optics/photonics simulation tools.
• Strong theoretical understanding of photonics and electromagnetics.
• Experience with Ansys Lumerical, Zemax, CODE V or similar tools.
• Excellent English communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Scope optics/photonics simulation solutions with customers and align with product capabilities.
• Collaborate with account managers to drive optics/photonics opportunities and proposals.
• Provide technical support, workflow understanding, and tool adoption guidance.
• Develop technical training, demonstrations, and collateral for use cases like lasers and PICs.
• Create technical notes, tutorials, blogs, and webinars.
• Perform benchmarking and POC studies with Ansys tools.
• Maintain knowledge of Ansys optics, photonics, and related multiphysics offerings.
• Participate in ongoing training to expand optics/photonics expertise.
