Job summary

Semtech in Alhambra, CA is seeking a Wafer Fab Operator at Op1/Op2 level to execute wafer fabrication in an InP-based photonics manufacturing setting. You will operate advanced semiconductor equipment, maintain process control, and ensure high-quality wafer output.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Associate degree in electronics or related field preferred.
• Op1: 0–1 year semiconductor wafer fab experience (preferred but not required).
• Op2: 2–3 years of experience in cleanroom environment (III‑V or photonics preferred).
• Basic understanding of cleanroom practices, chemical handling, wafer handling.
• Ability to follow detailed SOPs and process instructions.

Responsibilities

• Wafer Processing & Equipment Operation (50%): perform routine wafer fabrication steps following SOPs, load/unload wafers, ensure correct recipe selection and lot processing sequence, follow process travelers and MES instructions, execute process steps, prevent damage or contamination.
• Wafer Inspection, Process Monitoring & Quality Control (30%): monitor critical process parameters, perform in-process inspections (optical microscope, thickness/stress measurement), identify deviations, escalate issues.
• Data Recording & Documentation (10%): record process data, tool usage, and lot completion in logs or MES, document deviations, ensure traceability.
• Continuous Improvement & Engineering Support (10%): assist in engineering runs, DOE experiments, and process qualification, provide feedback on yield trends.
