Job summary

Gamma Scientific Inc. is seeking an entry-level Photometric Laboratory Technician to support testing, calibration, and measurement of detectors, lamps, and LED-based light sources.

The role involves using photometers, radiometers, spectroradiometers and colorimeters, with a focus on accuracy and adherence to procedures. The position requires a foundation in physics/optics and familiarity with LabVIEW and Excel.

Qualifications

• AS degree with technical experience required; BS degree in Physics, Optics, or Engineering preferred.
• Strong knowledge of optics or basic knowledge in photometry and colorimetry is expected.
• Proficiency with reading optical, electrical and mechanical drawings and LabVIEW a plus.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, measurements and calibrations of lamps and detectors per established procedures.
• Manage the day-to-day workflow in the lab and interface with customers as needed.
• Develop test methods and procedures for calibration services.
• Maintain test equipment and conduct calibration tests with reference standards.
• Interface with engineers in developing and revising test procedures.
• Support engineers on qualification testing of new products.
• Possibly travel for onsite testing and service.
