Job summary

Atomica is seeking a Process Engineer II to join the Photolithography team in Goleta, CA. You will develop high-yield photolithography solutions for MEMS and IC layouts, support existing processes, and help scale new processes for growing programs.

The role requires hands-on experience with mask aligners, steppers, and coat tracks, plus familiarity with MEMS/photon lithography processes. Collaborative cross‑functional work and a strong technical foundation are essential.

Qualifications

• : Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
• Experience with CAD tools such as L-Edit, KLayout, and SolidWorks.
• Courses in VLSI design.
• Hands‑on experience using mask aligner, steppers, and automated coat tracks.
• Strong Knowledge of MEMS or semiconductor photolithography processes.
• Comfortable working in cross‑functional teams (process, product, test).

Responsibilities

• Utilize L-Edit Software to design and create photomasks for MEMS and IC layout.
• Ensure accuracy, manufacturability, and compliance with process design rules.
• Contribute to yield improvement by incorporating feedback from process engineers.
• Tool health and predictive process management including daily SPC monitoring, Cpk improvement and troubleshooting process and tool issues
• New equipment/technology selection, installation, operational qualification, process qualification and tool matching.
• Improve process robustness through characterization and DOE’s.
• Collaborate to standardize equipment recipes, processes, and layers (multi-step) to reduce complexity / cost and reduce development lead time and effort
