Job summary

University of Denver's Art & History Department requires a part-time Assistant Photo Laboratory Technician I to supervise Open Studio Hours, train Lab Assistants, and maintain a safe, clean environment in the Digital Photography Lab. You will oversee students and ensure proper shutdown procedures and safe workflows.

Responsibilities include inventory, printer maintenance, and assisting with repairs and special projects.

Qualifications

• This is a Work Study Position Only.
• Must be able to work on Sundays.
• Previous Photography Lab Assistant I/II experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the Open Studio Hours on Sundays and other assigned shifts, overseeing Lab Assistants and students.
• Train Studio Assistants on equipment, delegate cleaning and special projects, and ensure proper usage of equipment.
• Maintain a SAFE and CLEAN area in the photo labs, including cleaning tasks and securing printer rooms.
• Supervise students using the Open Lab Hours of the Digital Photography Lab throughout the week and weekends.
• Maintain a weekly inventory of supplies for the Photography Labs.
• Change out empty printer cartridges and perform printer cleaning tests weekly.
• Assist with repairs of photo-related equipment.
• Fulfill special projects such as organizing equipment and creating signage.
