- Supervise the Open Studio Hours on Sundays. This includes oversight of the other Studio Assistants and Students using the Space during the Sunday Open Studio Hours.
- Train Studio Assistants on equipment, delegate tasks to Studio Assistants such as daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning, work on Special Projects, and assist students with proper usage of equipment.
- Maintain a SAFE and CLEANworkshop in the sculpture studios. This includes sweeping and dusting off the equipment, and locking up the tool room and cabinets at the end of theshift. NOTE: Custodians do not clean the Studio Areas beyond emptying trash, the daily cleaning of sinks, tables/counters, and floors are part of this position’s duties.
- Monitor both Studio Assistants and students during Open Studio Hours to ensure all toolsare being operated in a safe/effective manner.
- Cleaning equipment and routine maintenance of certain equipment.
- Supervise student clean-up of work areas during Open Studio Hours.
- Fulfill special projects as assigned.
- Handle emergency situations if theyarise.
- Assist in the training of Sculpture Studio Assistants.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Able to be proficient in the Oversight of the Sunday Open Studio Hours including the delegation of tasks, completing projects in an efficient manner, and the ability to thrive as the Supervisor in a chaotic work environment.
- Able to openly communicate issues that arise with the 3-D Studio Technician immediately such as improper tool usage, misuse of the Studio Area, broken tools, or tools that need immediate maintenance. Able to follow both written and verbal instructions and safety protocol.
- Needs to be organized, responsible, mature, and proactive.
- Needs to be able to work independently.
- Needs to enjoy working with people and leading a team while also being a team player.

Required Qualifications
- This is a Work Study Position Only
- Must be able to work on Sundays.
- To be considered for the Undergraduate Assistant Sculpture Technician III position you must have previously been an Undergraduate Assistant Sculpture Technician II.
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred 1 Yearof Experience
- Fabrication/ shopenvironment with exposure to various Wood Shop and Metal Shop equipment.
- Unexpected interruptions occur often, and stress level is moderate to high.
- Noise level is moderate to high.
Physical Activities
- Ability to stand for long periods of time with the ability to be vigilant as you supervise students operating shop equipment.
- Required to move about the Sculpture Areawith the capability of transporting objects up to 50 lbs. by applying team lifting skills.
Work Duty Expectations
- In accordance with federal regulations, it is impermissible for a student utilizing work-study funding to be compensated for work performed while the student is expected to be in class.
- Further, a student shall not be allowed to be compensated for studying while at their work-study job.
- It is also not permissible for a student to be compensated for work performed outside their position’s assigned work place or for work performed outside the scope of regular business hours (i.e., a student may not take work home).
Work Schedule
- This is a Sunday Open Studio Shift Only.
- Hours are based on Work Study Academic Year Award Amount
- Employment period runs from the beginning of Fall Quarter to the end of Spring Quarter
Compensation
- Pay: $20.50 per hour.
- In compliance with Colorado’s Healthy Families and Workplaces Act (HFWA), non-benefited employees accrue one hour of paid leave for every 30 hours worked up to a maximum of 48 hours per year.
