Job Description

May be asked to teach days, evenings, hybrid/online and in the dual enrollment program. Online/hybrid teaching requires additional campus-based training.

Special Requirements

• Degree verification must be on a legible transcript.
• If the degree award date is not posted on the transcript, the application will be deemed incomplete.
• Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts.
• All degrees and coursework required for minimum qualifications must be from accredited postsecondary institutions.
• Evaluations of foreign degrees and/or coursework are required.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s in photography, fine arts, or art, or Bachelor’s in any of the above AND Master’s in art history or humanities; or a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area; or equivalent qualifications.
• Commitment to diversity; demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff, and the ability to demonstrate how these factors relate to equity‑minded practices within the classroom.

Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrated success in helping arts students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
