Job Description

May be asked to teach days, evenings, hybrid/online and in the dual enrollment program. Online/hybrid teaching requires additional campus‑based training.

Special Requirements

The award of all degrees must be verifiable on a legible transcript. If degree award date is not posted on transcript your application will be deemed incomplete and removed from consideration. Grade cards will not be accepted in lieu of transcripts. All degrees and course work used to satisfy the required minimum qualifications must be submitted and from accredited postsecondary institutions. Evaluations of foreign degrees and/or course work are required.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s in fine arts, art, or art history
  • Bachelor’s in any of the above
  • Master’s in humanities
  • or possess a valid California teaching credential authorizing service in a community college in the appropriate subject matter area; or equivalent qualifications (related education, training, employment and professional experience).
  • Commitment to diversity. All applicants must have demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of diverse backgrounds and be able to demonstrate how these factors relate to the need for equity‑minded practices within the classroom.
Desirable Qualifications

Demonstrated success in helping arts students from historically underrepresented and/or marginalized groups, nontraditional students, speakers of other languages, and students with learning disabilities.
