Film & Media Studies Instructor Pool-Part-Time

Position: Film & Media Studies Instructor Pool-Part-Time

Department: CC Visual and Performing Arts

Location: Cypress College, Cypress, CA

Employment Type: Part-Time (per lecture unit)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Teach courses in Film & Media Studies, including day, evening, hybrid, or online formats, as requested.
• Prepare and deliver course materials, lectures, and assessments.
• Provide instructional support to dual enrollment students.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and service activities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• Master’s in fine arts, art, or art history, or Bachelor’s in any of the above combined with a Master’s in humanities.
• Valid California teaching credential for community college in the appropriate subject area, or equivalent qualifications as determined by the District Equivalency Committee.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and equity, with experience engaging diverse student populations.

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience teaching fine arts or media courses to underrepresented or non‑traditional students.
• Experience in historically underrepresented communities or supporting students with learning disabilities.

Special Requirements

All degrees and coursework used to meet the required minimum qualifications must be verified through a legible transcript and evaluated for foreign degrees where applicable.
