Job Title: News Photographer / Editor – Part Time

Location: Dallas, TX

About The Role & Team

KUVN is seeking a dedicated and creative News Photographer / Editor to cover news events for our newscasts. If you can shoot impactful images, see beyond the lens, and have a passion for storytelling, then we need you.

About You

The ideal candidate possesses self-initiative to stay up to date with new and emerging technologies and methods. You have knowledge of video editing concepts, file transfer protocols, and can work well in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Your Day-to-day

• Shoot and edit daily news stories and special reports as assigned, with or without a reporter, for TV and digital platforms.
• Set up and operate LiveU streaming equipment.
• Edit materials to match scripts prepared by reporters or producers, using on-location facilities or portable equipment.
• Work with reporters and suggest how stories should be produced.
• Drive, operate, and handle all necessary news equipment.
• Maintain assigned equipment and/or vehicle in good working condition.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism or a related field; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a photographer/editor.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and oral.
• Knowledge of editing software, such as Premiere Pro and Avid.
• Valid Texas Driver’s license with a clean driving record, as driving a news vehicle daily is essential.
• Ability to make sound decisions under extreme deadlines and follow directions, including constructive criticism.
• Knowledge of digital and social media platforms.
• Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, type, edit, reach, and sit for up to 8 hours.
• Willing to work from the Dallas office.
• Unrestricted authorization to work full-time in the United States.
