Job summary

Western Michigan University Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine is seeking a PhoneTriage Registered Nurse to provide expert nursing care via phone and electronic channels.

You will assess symptoms, guide urgency, educate patients, and coordinate with clinicians to ensure timely, safe care. Requirements include RN program graduate, 4+ years of clinical nursing, ambulatory care or triage experience, and EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited RN program is required.
• Minimum of 4 years of clinical nursing experience.
• Experience in ambulatory care, primary care, or telephone triage preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide professional nursing care via telephone and electronic communication.
• Assess symptoms, determine urgency, and educate patients.
• Coordinate care with providers and other team members.
• Refers abnormal labs and manages prescription refills.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and technology revisions; flexible scheduling.
