Job summary

MANTECH in Chantilly, VA seeks a motivated Phone Technician to install, maintain, and support telecommunications systems including VoIP and legacy phones. You will ensure high-quality service delivery across Northern Virginia and travel between customer sites as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 8+ years of experience, an associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of cabling methodologies, industry standards, troubleshooting techniques, and reading cable run lists.
• Experience with installing endpoints including desktop IT equipment, printers, VoIP and digital phones, network switches.
• Experience in resolving technical problems involving computer hardware, network, and telecommunications systems.

• Execute infrastructure tasks: pulling, terminating, and dressing cabling per sponsor standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues like faulty connections and dropped calls.

• Local travel is required between customer buildings in Northern Virginia; possible temporary assignments elsewhere.
• Maintain 6:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. shifts; flex to support mission-critical operations and after-hours emergencies.

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Phone Technician to join our team in Chantilly, VA. In this role, you are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and support of telecommunications systems, including VoIP and legacy phone systems, ensuring high-quality service delivery across Northern Virginia.

Responsibilities

• Support all facets of telephone installation, maintenance, and hardware troubleshooting a variety of telephone hardware (VoIP and legacy systems).
• Execute infrastructure tasks, including pulling, terminating, and dressing cabling in strict accordance with industry regulations and Sponsor standards.
• Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, including faulty connections, dropped calls, and hardware malfunctions.
• Provision and configure telephony features, including call routing, voicemail systems, extensions, and standard phone features.
• Local travel is required between customer buildings throughout Northern Virginia, with the potential for temporary assignments to alternate locations in support of special projects.
• Work standard 8-hour shifts scheduled within the core operational window of 6:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Maintain flexibility to support mission-critical operations, work extended hours during peak periods and respond to last-minute emergency requests.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma with 8+ years of experience, an associate’s degree with 6+ years of experience, or a bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of experience.
• Excellent knowledge of various cabling methodologies, industry standards, troubleshooting techniques, and reading/understanding cable run lists.
• Experience with installing endpoints including but not limited to desktop IT equipment, printers, VoIP and digital phones, network switches.
• Experience in resolving technical problems and answering queries involving computer hardware, network, and telecommunications systems.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with implementation on Sponsor’s network LAN infrastructure.
• Ability to adapt to quickly changing tasks and requirements and the ability to quickly learn new skills while on the job.

Clearance Requirements

• Must have a current/active TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to remain in a stationary position at least 25% of the time. Constantly operate a computer, phone, and other office equipment for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to move/traverse within and between buildings and offices majority of the time, position self to maintain equipment and cabling, including under the desks, while moving floor tiles, and in server closets, some of which may be confined spaces.
• Must be able to move Audio/Visual or Computer equipment weighing 50+ pounds, some equipment may require team-lift or the use of carts. Ascends/descends a ladder, 10+ feet high while pulling cables and adjusting equipment.
