City Year Phoenix is seeking a Start-Up Service Leader to support ASU City Year Student Success Coaches and mentor students, helping them earn academic success and improve attendance during the start-up year.

This part-time role requires prior City Year Corps experience, collaboration with teachers, and work during standard school hours. The position offers opportunities to lead site priorities and contribute to city-wide programs in Phoenix.

Qualifications

• Be a U.S. citizen or legal permanent resident
• Be 18-26 by July 1, 2026
• Agree to and complete comprehensive background checks

Responsibilities

• Support start-up-year Phoenix site priorities, including training, school partnership coordination, recruitment, fundraising, and other operational initiatives
• Serve as a peer leader and mentor to ASU Student Success Coaches by modeling effective service practices, onboarding support, and reinforcing City Year culture and expectations
• Partner with the Impact Manager to support City Year service model implementation through coaching, observation, problem-solving, and progress monitoring
• Collaborate with teachers and school staff to provide targeted academic interventions and promote positive student outcomes and climate
• Demonstrate professionalism, adaptability, and accountability while serving as a resource for Student Success Coaches and fostering team culture
