Freeman Mathis & Gary, LLP (FMG) seeks a Litigation Associate to join its Phoenix, Arizona office. The ideal candidate has 4+ years of litigation experience and a strong desire to take ownership of cases while delivering outstanding client service.

This role offers exposure to sophisticated matters, chances to develop courtroom and deposition skills, and collaboration with experienced litigators across a national platform in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

Qualifications

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active Arizona Bar membership or ability to become licensed in Arizona.
• Minimum of three years of litigation experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate claims and develop effective litigation strategies.
• Manage all phases of discovery, including drafting and responding to written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Draft motions, pleadings, and other legal documents.
• Attend court hearings, mediations, and other litigation proceedings.
• Analyze legal issues and provide practical advice to clients.
• Communicate case developments, risks, and litigation strategies to clients.
• Conduct legal research and prepare persuasive written advocacy.
• Negotiate favorable resolutions when appropriate.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships.
• Collaborate effectively with attorneys, staff, and clients.
