Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ is seeking a Lab Support Services Tech to join our clinical laboratory team. You will perform venipuncture, specimen collection, processing, and receive desk duties, while ensuring patient identification and safe handling of all specimens.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED and phlebotomy/medical assistant training or equivalent, with experience in phlebotomy or clinical lab tasks.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; phlebotomy/medical assistant training or equivalent.
• 3 years of healthcare phlebotomy/medical assisting experience or national certification.
• Familiar with lab procedures, specimen handling and terminology.

Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture, specimen collection, processing and desk duties.
• Maintain positive patient identification and proper labeling.
• May perform order entry and verify patient data using systems.
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and SOPs in the lab setting.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients and coworkers.
