Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required (G.E.D.) Minimum of 3 years of specimen processing and handling, accessioning, clinical lab, lab testing, and/or other relevant experience.
• Associate's degree in a health or science related field and 2 years’ experience in a clinical laboratory preferred.
• Demonstrated aptitude for working in a laboratory and ability to use electronic health records and lab information systems.

Responsibilities

• Routinely performs advanced or moderately complex pre-analytic specimen receiving and processing using proper safety procedures in an accurate and ethical manner.
• Assists in blood issuing and distribution process, performing moderate complexity testing and pre-analytic work in specialized laboratory areas.
• Maintains and documents send-out lab requisitions and billing, trains new team members or other colleagues needing assistance.
• Assists consultants with specimen collection and research, triages specimens according to level of complexity and patient history.
